Siyakhula, a Mathematics Festival for Africa!
On behalf of AIMS, we would like to invite you to contribute to and participate in a celebration of Mathematical Sciences in Africa. Our landscape is growing, and together we are shaping Africa’s economic development and scientific discovery on our beautiful continent. Let’s reflect and celebrate together.
The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) will host a week-long mathematics festival in Muizenberg, Cape Town from 17 to 22 March 2024. AIMS is turning twenty! The German Research Chairs programme in Africa is turning ten! The DSI-NRF Centre of Excellence Mathematical and Statistical Sciences in South Africa is turning ten! We are all growing, and you are invited.
Siyakhula means we are growing. We are all growing, and as a valued member of the mathematical sciences community, you are invited to play a part!
The event programme will feature insightful keynotes, interactive workshops, showcase days tailored to research in Africa, women in mathematics events, fireside chats and thought-provoking panel discussions. There will also be discussions on the latest trends and advancements in the field of mathematics and its applications and communication while fostering collaboration with colleagues from all over Africa.
